March 2010
A month dedicated to St Joseph
This month is quite busy especially as we get closer to Holy Week and the celebrations for the most solemn days of the year for us as Christians. And in the rush of things it is so easy to overlook the patron of the Universal Church whose feast day falls right in the middle of the month. Saint Joseph’s feast is celebrate on March 19th.
Pray this month for all those “quiet people” in your life who, like Joseph, provide so much stability and love for you. If you come to the Shrine, consider seeking out his statute and lighting a candle for your “Joseph”, asking the Protector of the Child Jesus to keep watch over your home and family. (I’ll give you a hint: his statue is behind the Grotto Chapel!!!)
One Our Father...one Hail Mary...Glory be...
Heavenly Father, you entrusted our Savior to the care of Joseph
of Nazareth. By the help of his prayers may your Church
continue to serve its Lord, Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns
with you and the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. Amen.
